Julianne Kaye, President

Julianne has been a member of Clan Scott since 2022 but grew up as a member of Clan Scott. Her father, Harry Bowman was Deputy Chieftain and ran the clan tent at several of the Scottish Games all over the east coast while she competed as a premier Scottish Highland Dancer. Since joining, she has served as the South East Commissioner and attends as many games as possible on the east coast!

Julianne is an elementary school librarian and teacher. You can find her in the library reading and teaching research, digital citizenship and literacy skills. She is married to Gregory and they have 3 sons and a tortoise named Shelly.

Lee Bruner, Vice President

Throughout her youth, Lee Bruner’s father regaled her with stories about her connection with Clan Scott, but it was not until her daughter wanted to learn bagpipes and highland dance that Lee sought out clan tents at Highland games. Lee has been a member of Clan Scott since 2016. She is the Mid-Atlantic Commissioner, but travels throughout the United States and Canada to support her daughter at Scottish dance competitions.

When not driving her two children around, Lee is an elementary school librarian in Northern Virginia. She has also taught high school social studies and worked as a youth services public librarian for many years

Darrel Scott Jr, Membership Secretary

Darrel became a member of Clan Scott in 2024. As Membership Secretary, he manages member communications, distribution lists, and membership records, while his role as Upper Midwest Commissioner allows him to stay connected with members across nine states, from Minnesota to Tennessee.

During the festival season, you’ll find him hosting the Clan Scott tents at the Shelbyville, Columbus, and Indianapolis games in Indiana, where he enjoys meeting fellow Scots and sharing in our common history.

A Kentucky native who has lived in Southern Indiana since 2003, Darrel balances his volunteer work with a career as a Senior Business Intelligence Engineer for a national healthcare provider. Outside of his professional and volunteer work, he enjoys spending time with family, playing golf, watching classic movies, listening to classic jazz, and sipping on a good single malt whisky.

Barry Herrin, Corporate Secretary

I'm a practicing lawyer and have been since 1990. My practice is in health care law and policy, but I also advise a number of community nonprofits and have established over 5 dozen community charities and obtained their tax-exempt rulings from the IRS.

In addition to my professional memberships, I am an Eagle Scout and had a 45-year Scouting career as a youth and adult. I am also a certified barbecue judge and an EMT-Responder licensed in Georgia.

I've received recognition for contributions to many professional and trade associations, as well as for humanitarian work and lifesaving.

Camden Kaye, Treasurer
Camden and his family are longtime members of Clan Scott, and Camden is the grandson of former Deputy Chieftain and Clan Piper, Harry Bowman. A student at the University of South Carolina studying Political Science and History, Camden is an aspiring law student and is active with many political entities and organizations on campus. Camden is excited to bring his talents to Clan Scott and to help wherever possible!

Mike Dismukes, Member at Large

Native North Carolinian, he was born in 1965. He is a voracious reader (mostly mystery, sci-fi, factual & alternative history), a husband, father, and canine enthusiasts. His personal Scottish fashion choices lean more into the traditional (Victorian/Edwardian) with a touch of whimsical.... Such as a Yellow Submarine or Tardis lapel pin to see if anyone 'gets it'. He consider myself an introvert who, through the follies of fate and circumstances, has to be a gregarious loudmouth. Besides, he was promised fresh baked shortbreads & whiskey if he complied, soooooo...

Member at Large, Ted Scott

I spent 33 years working for the State of Illinois with the Department of Public Health, at which I licensed in-home service agencies for the elderly.

I’ve always known my heritage was Scottish, but after digging into some online research, I discovered Clan Scott. I haven't taken a DNA test yet, but I plan to so I can pinpoint exactly where my roots lie. I vaguely remember my grandfather talking about relatives who gave up land and titles to immigrate to the US—though I’m not sure how true that is, as my family trail runs cold after my great-great-grandfather.

While I’m still learning what a Member-at-Large does, unlike my late grandfather and father, I want to actively celebrate our heritage and pass a legacy down to my grandchildren. I’m also a brand-new Papa! Beyond that, I have two children: a 23-year-old daughter who recently graduated from college as a Physical Therapist, and a 20-year-old son who serves in the National Guard and works as an electrician.

Over the years, I've served as Vice President of our agency's employee club and volunteered as a Big Brother through the Governor's Mentoring Program. I'm also a self-published children's book author with a second book currently in the works.

I may not have invented golf, but I sure can drink and chase that little ball around the pasture. (I think I have jokes! LOL)
